HISTORY OF MFANTSE MBOA KUW (MMK)
The present day MMK was founded in July 2002 with Messrs. Seth Amoako, George Evans, Isaac Imprim, Hayford Nkrumah and Mrs Mary Nkrumah as founding members. Regarded as the pioneer members were the 25 people who attended the first meeting on 14th of July 2002, at Mr. Hayford Nkrumah’s residence. At the March 2016 meeting, it was generally accepted to extend pioneer membership to anyone who attended any meeting up to December 2002.
An antecedent MMK group had functioned from the early 1990s but had become defunct by 1999.
MMK today is the most active Ghanaian community group in Greater Sydney with some of its members located inter-state and overseas.
